Lady Leopards Earn 1st Win at Perry Since 1989 – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team held on to defeat the host Perry Panthers 61-57 on the road at Perry High School Monday Evening. With the win, Louisville has now won 6 of their last 7 to improve to 12-5 on the year.
Sherilynn Mullett scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Paige Cole and Kelsey Adelman both finished with double figures for Louisville as well. Cole scored 15 and Adelman tacked on 11.

The Lady Leopards took a 15-5 lead at the end of the first and maintained their double digit by halftime 29-19. Louisville outscored Perry 14-13 in the third to take a 43-32 lead into the final period.
The Leopards made just 4 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter as the Panthers began to rally back. Louisville only shot 48% (13 of 27) for the game from the charity stride, while Perry connected on 61% (13 of 21) of their free throw shots. The Panthers erupted for 25 points in the final stanza, but the Leopards four made free throws in the period proved to be the difference.
Perry was led by M. Randulic who made 3 three-pointers and scored a game-high 21. Kailee Wilson also scored 12 and K. Wolf added 11 for the Lady Panthers.
This is Louisville’s first win at Perry since a 54-44 victory on January 19, 1989. The Leopards have now won 4 of their last 6 against the Panthers dating back to the first game ever covered by Leopard Nation in December 2010. Louisville still trails the all-time series 17-21 which includes a 6-11 record in games played at Perry.
