The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team earned a convincing 60-42 victory over the host North Canton Hoover Vikings Wednesday Evening at Hoover High School. With the victory, Louisville has now won 3 of their last 4 games and improves to 11-7 on the season.

Barwick Scores Game High 19 for Leopards

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdSophomore shooting guard Courtney Barwick scored 11 of her game high 19 points in the first half as the Lady Leopards took command of the contest early. Barwick also cashed in on 4 of Louisville’s 9 three-pointers on the evening.

Junior shooting guard Brooke Haren also poured in 18 points to go along with a team leading 4 rebounds. Haren scored 12 points in the second half to help solidify the Louisville victory.


Miglich Sets Single Season 3-Pointer Record

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSenior shooting guard Taryn Miglich also scored 14 points and broke the school record for most three-pointers in a single season . Miglich matched Barwick with 4 three-pointers on the night to put her at 50 for the season.

The previous single season three-point record was set by Paige Cole who made 49 shots from beyond the arch during the 2020-2021 season.


Rose Leads Vikings with Team High 17

Jenny Can Cleaning AdSenior point guard Lauren Rose scored 11 of her team high 17 points in the opening half to lead the Lady Vikings. Senior power forward Grace Craig also finished with 10 points and a game high 6 boards for Hoover. Junior point guard Livi Cardinale rounded out North Canton’s top scorers with a pair of three-pointers and 7 points.


Louisville’s 1st Win At Hoover Since 1989

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieThe victory snaps Louisville’s 12-game losing streak against North Canton Hoover over a span of 29 years. The Lady Leopards last defeated the Lady Vikings 45-43 on December 30, 1993.

Louisville’s last victory at North Canton was a 51-42 win on January 11, 1989. Hoover had won the previous 6 meetings in the rivalry when hosting LHS. The 18-point margin is the second largest for the Leopards at North Canton all-time. Louisville won the the 1979 game at Hoover 50-28, a 22-point margin.

Despite the Vikings decades of dominance prior to Wednesday, the Leopards only trail the all-time series 22-23. This includes a 9-10 record when playing on the road at North Canton Hoover in the series.
