Louisville Blanks Massillon in Season Opener – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team shutout the host Massillon Tigers 5-0 in their season opener Friday. 

All three Lady Leopards singles players won in straight sets led by Rachel Kibler capturing #1 singles 6-2, 6-2. Jo Menegay also won #2 singles 6-3, 6-3 and Sherilynn Mullett claimed #3 singles by the count of 6-2, 6-3. 

In doubles action, the Louisville tandem of Amanda Plaskett and Jade Thomas rallied from a 7-5 opening set defeat to take their final two sets 6-1, 6-1. The #2 doubles team of Carleen Fouts and Bailey Menegay also won their match by a 6-1, 6-1 final.

With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now defeated the Tigers in each of the last 5 seasons and in their last 7 meetings together overall. This is the fourth time Louisville has shutout Massillon in that span. LHS now leads the all-time series 15-9 overall
