The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team shutout the visiting Massillon Tigers 5-0 in their season opener Friday at Louisville High School.
Junior Rachel Kibler led the Lady Leopards by earning a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory in #1 singles. Senior Sherilynn Mullett and Junior Jade Thomas were near perfect in only surrendering one match game each. Mullett took #2 singles 6-1, 6-0 and Thomas earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in #3 singles.
Both Louisville doubles teams won their matches in straight sets. The #1 doubles team of Sophomore Ashley Dadisman and Sophomore Katie Yarnall breezed to a 6-2 victory in the first set before earning a hard found 7-6 (7-5) win in the second set. The #2 doubles team of Senior Sophie Warner and Junior Kora Woolf also won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
The Lady Leopards have now defeated the Lady Tigers in 8 straight matches dating back to the 2018 season. Louisville has shutout Massillon 5 times in their past 7 meetings. LHS now leads the all-time series 16-9 dating back to 1990.
