The Louisville Leopards Boys Golf Team defeated the host Dover Tornadoes on a 5th card tiebreaker Thursday at Oak Shadows Golf Club. The two teams tied 168-168 utilizing their four best scores, but Louisville held a seven stroke advantage when instituting the fifth best score. With the victory, the Leopards improved to 6-5 on the season.

Karcher Cards Team Low 41 to Lead Louisville

Junior Sam Karcher shot a team low 41 to lead Louisville. Sophomores Jack Mayle and Cole Miller followed carding 42 each. Junior Ian DiMarzio rounded out the Leopards top four by recording a 43.

Sophomore Zach Root finished just outside the top four in tallying a 44. His effort would prove the be the difference as he beat out Dover’s Gavyn Gerber and Dylan Grewel who shared the fifth best Tornado score with 51 each.

Hanner Shoots Match Low 39 to Lead Dover

Dover was led by Jacob Hanner who was the match medalist shooting 3 over par 39. Carter Begue finished a single stroke behind with 40.

Nolan Kellicker also shot 44 and Zach Dale 45 to round out the scoring for the Tornadoes.

Leopards Avenge Loss to Tornadoes from Last Season

Dover won against Louisville at Sleepy Hollow 172-177 a year ago. Prior to that, the two teams had not met in a match since they were both in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference together back in 1992.
