The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer team earned their first road win of the season in a 2-1 victory over the host Canton Central Catholic Crusaders Saturday. With the win, Louisville improves to 2-10 on the year.

The Leopards scored the only goal of the first half when Gabby Smith found the net via a Megan Hampe pass just 8:23 into the contest. Louisville tacked on to their lead early on in the second half. Hampe recorded her second assist when Megan Chatelain scored during the 46th minute of the game to give the Leopards a 2-0 advantage.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Lady Crusaders would get on the board at the end of the 66th minute to cut the Louisville lead in half at 2-1. However, the Lady Leopards defense shut down Central through the final 14 minutes of play to earn their second victory of the season.

Louisville out-shot Central 16-6 for the match and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Megan Dorosky finished with 4 saves in goal for LHS.

Although they have met in the preseason several times, this is the first time the two schools have played in the regular season since August 23, 2008. Louisville won that match at Central by a count of 2-1 as well. The Lady Leopards now lead the all-time series 3-1.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to face the Canfield Cardinals on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:30 PM.
