Louisville in Command of NBC After Shutout of West Branch

The Lady Leopards took care of business at West Branch Thursday Evening and came away with a 6-0 victory. Louisville is now 8-4 overall and remains a perfect 6-0 in conference play.
Kirsten Wharmby pitched a complete game shutout and struck out 3 to lead the Lady Leopards. She also retired the final six Warriors batters in order to secure the victory.
At the plate, Grace Jackson went 4-for-4 with 3 doubles and 2 runs scored to lead Louisville. Emily 
Cantley also hit a Solo Home Run and drove in a run via a bunt single. Other highlights included Keri Hupp who had a 3 hit night, Meghan Leasure who had 2 hits, and Amy Hoover who delivered a 2-run single in the fourth inning.
Bailey McElwain and Maddie Pidgeon led West Branch with 2 hits each.
With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now downed the Lady Warriors 21 straight times dating back to 2004. This includes a 10-game winning streak at West Branch. Louisville now leads the all-time series 41-15. This is the sixth time the Leopards have shutout the Warriors All-Time and the third time in the Chet Givens Coaching era.
