Louisville Edges West Branch to Clinch NBC Outright

The Louisville Leopards edged the host West Branch Warriors 3-2 Thursday to clinch the NBC Outright. The Conference Championship is their third in as many years. With the victory, Louisville is now 14-1 overall and 9-0 against NBC foes.

Jake Pukys remained undefeated in #1 Singles and led the Leopards by posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Beatty's Sports Spring 2014 - Hat LThe #2 Doubles team of Andy Hall & Kyle Robinson also won in two sets 7-5, 6-2.

The match came down to #3 Singles to determine the outcome. It took all three sets, but Vic Knebl pulled out the 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory to hand the Leopards the win and the league.

With the victory, Louisville has now defeated West Branch in 13 consecutive matches and leads the all-time series 52-4 overall. The Leopards will conclude NBC play at home against the Warriors on Senior Night, which is Thursday, May 8.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Saturday, May 3 at 3:00 PM in the second round of the OTCA NE DI Boy’s Team Tournament.
