The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team defeated the host top-ranked (Division VII) Strasburg-Franklin Tigers 5-3 Monday evening at Franklin Park. With their second straight victory, the Lady Leopards improve to 6-5 on the season.

Louisville Varsity Leopards snatched the lead late in their 5-3 victory over Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers on Monday. The game was tied at three in the top of the seventh when Mara Mayle singled, scoring two runs.
Katelynn Miller struck out 10 batters on the day. The hurler also surrendered three hits and three runs over six innings while walking three.
Louisville Varsity Leopards were the first to get on the board in the third when Anna Sirohman doubled, scoring one run.
Addy Sibila singled to center field on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, which helped Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
A single by Addy Campbell gave Louisville Varsity Leopards the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth.
Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. An error scored two runs, to give Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers the lead, 3-2.
Louisville Varsity Leopards took the lead, 5-3, in the top of the seventh thanks to singles by Sirohman, and Mara Mayle.
Miley Reifenschneider opened the game for Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered 11 hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking four. Taylor Schneider collected the save.
Louisville Varsity Leopards amassed 11 hits in the game. Mara Mayle, the number seven hitter for Louisville Varsity Leopards, led the way with two runs batted in. Mara Mayle went 1-for-3 on the day. Kaitlin Twinem, Sirohman, and Leah Claugus each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Claugus stole two bases. Louisville Varsity Leopards ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
Reifenschneider drove the middle of the lineup, leading Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. Olivia Spidell led Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers with two hits in three at bats. Spidell stole two bases. Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.
Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game against Jackson Varsity Polar Bears on Tuesday.
