Burton Opens Scoring with 15th Goal
The Leopards wasted no time gaining momentum in the postseason. Senior Carter Burton opened the scoring in the first half off an assist from Raiden Lindner to put Louisville on top 1-0. The goal was Burton’s 15th of the season, continuing his standout senior campaign.
Mayle Scores Twice to Lead Louisville
Later in the first half, Burton turned provider—threading an assist to sophomore Maddox Mayle, who buried the ball into the bakc of the net to double the Leopards’ lead to 2-0 before halftime.
Louisville stayed aggressive in the second half, and a crafty set piece resulted in their third goal. A left-side corner from Burton sailed over the crowd in front of goal and drifted untouched toward the far corner, where Maddox Rodriguez tracked it down. After creating space on the wing, Rodriguez centered a sharp pass for Mayle who laced his second goal of the game—and 10th of the season—into the left side of the net to give Louisville a commanding 3-0 lead.

Lindner Scores 1st Varsity Goal to Remove All Doubt
The Leopards capped the scoring minutes later. Burton floated a pass from the right wing through heavy traffic in the box. After bouncing multiple times, junior Jax Lindner struck the ball on the final bounce and sent it over the keeper, off the right post, and in for his first career varsity goal—punctuating a dominant Leopard performance.
The assist was Burton’s team-best eighth on the season.
