The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team rebounded with a convincing 14-3 win over the host Massillon Tigers Thursday evening at the blustery Eagles #190 Sports Complex. With the victory, Louisville improves to 1-1 on the season.

Addy Campbell hit two home runs and drove in four as Louisville Varsity Leopards defeated Washington 14-3 on Thursday. Campbell homered in the first and seventh innings.

Louisville Varsity Leopards scored eight runs in the seventh inning on the way to victory. Campbell homered to left field, scoring two runs, Shae O’Neill doubled, scoring one run, Taylor Schneider doubled, scoring two runs, Leah Claugus doubled, scoring one run, and Katelynn Miller singled, scoring two runs.

Louisville Varsity Leopards opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. Louisville Varsity Leopards first got on the board when Campbell homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Louisville Varsity Leopards added two runs in the third. Kaitlin Twinem walked, making the score 5-0.

Schneider earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three. Nevaeh Drennen stepped in the circle first for Washington. The starter allowed eight hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking three.

Louisville Varsity Leopards collected 14 hits in the game. Campbell and Anna Sirohman were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards while hitting back-to-back. Miller, Schneider, and Claugus each collected multiple hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Twinem stole two bases. Payton Hamilton collected four hits in four at bats, as Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards defeated Washington 17-3 on Thursday. Hamilton singled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards scored 10 runs in the second inning on the way to victory. Makenna Haugen tripled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Mara Mayle singled, scoring one run, Hamilton singled, scoring one run, Kylin Thorn doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Lyla Kandel tripled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Mayle doubled, scoring two runs.

Washington were the first to get on the board in the first when Madison Morrow drew a walk, scoring one run.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards added one run in the third after Thorn singled to center field.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Ryley Shanklin induced Miranda Hickinbotham to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Peyton Dillon singled, scoring two runs, and Ayverie Meister singled, scoring two runs.

Dillon earned the win for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. The starter gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking six. Shanklin took the loss for Washington. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up 17 runs (seven earned) on 14 hits, striking out five and walking six.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards accumulated 14 hits in the game. Mayle and Thorn each drove in three runs for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. Kandel collected two hits for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards in two at bats. Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Dillon and Addyson Upperman led the team with two bases on balls each. Hamilton stole two bases. Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards stole five bases in the game. Audriana Arena and Madilynn White were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Washington. Morrow and Ali Kovac were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Washington. Washington had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Jayla Neff and Morrow led the team with two free passes each. Washington turned one double play in the game.
