The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team dominated the host Marlington Dukes 49-23 Monday Night at Marlington High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 3-3 on the season.

Baker and Barwick Combine for 32
Maggie Baker scored all of her game high 17 points through the first three quarters of action to lead the Lady Leopards. Likewise, Courtney Barwick scored all 15 of her points through the first three periods as Louisville built a 43-19 lead heading into the fourth. Both Baker and Barwick cashed in on 3 three-pointers.
The Leopards led 11-7 at the end of the first and expanded their advantage to 30-14 by halftime. Louisville outscored Marlington 19-9 in the second half to seal the victory.
Mabel Kiko also finished in double figures with 10 and Ezela Manko added 7.
Wittensoldner Scores Team High 8 for Dukes
Ella Wittensoldner scored 6 of her team high 8 points in the first half to lead Marlington. Allie Gill also tacked on 4 for the Lady Dukes.
Maddie Gill, Zoe Mort, and Bailee Pietz added 3 points each. Gabby Sampson rounded out the scoring for MHS with a basket as well.
Marlington is now 3-5 on the season with the loss.
Louisville Vs. Marlington Girls Basketball Rivalry
The victory snaps the Lady Leopards 2-game losing streak to the Dukes. Louisville scored the same point total in last season’s matchup, but fell to Marlington at home 51-49. This time around the Leopards held the Dukes to single digits in every quarter and limited them to their lowest point total in the rivalry since Louisville won at Marlington 62-22 in 2015.
The Lady Leopards are now 71-22 all-time against the Lady Dukes, which includes a 36-9 record when playing at Marlington in the series.
