The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team put on a dominant performance Friday night, steamrolling the Boardman Spartans 73-6 in their latest dual meet. The Leopards controlled the match from start to finish, racking up nine pins, three forfeit wins, and a major decision on their way to another convincing victory. Louisville is now 6-0 in dual matches this season.
Teams Exchange Forfeits to Start
The match began at 106 pounds, where Paxton Laughlin got the Leopards on the board with a forfeit win. Boardman evened the score at 6-6 with a forfeit at 113 pounds, but Louisville quickly took command of the dual from there.
Louisville Records 5 Straight Pins
Xavier Pollard (120) recorded the first pin of the night for the Leopards, taking down Isaiah Payne in 3:58. Colton Rhoads (126) followed and wasted no time in pinning Mason Poracky in just 1:11.
Mikhail Montgomery (132) and Kaiden Barker (138) kept the momentum rolling, each securing falls over Albert Jenkins in 57 seconds and Santino Walker in 3:14, respectively.
Louisville didn’t let up in the middleweights, as Aric Criss (144) pinned Miles Crawford in 1:35 to extend the Leopard advantage to 36-6.
Leopards Score 67 Unanswered in Blowout Win
Beau Nezbeth (150) next earned a hard-fought 8-2 decision over Santino Slipkovich.
The Leopards then added another fall at 157, with Abel Bolyard taking down Zamir Sales in just 1:45. Wyatt Smith (165) followed with another pin in 3:47 over Spencer Baulo, pushing Louisville’s lead to 51-6.
Louisville closed out the dual in dominant fashion, picking up two forfeit wins at 175 (Brayden Elsass) and 190 (Micah Bricker) to push the team total to 63-6.
At 215 pounds, Jakeb Beard delivered a 15-5 major decision over Idries Abuenaaj, controlling the match from start to finish.
Finally, Zander McCrobie (285) capped off the night in style, pinning Santino Radujkovic in 5:25. The Leopards ended the night scoring the final 67 points in sealing the 73-6 blowout victory.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Austintown Fitch Falcons on Thursday, February 13 for Senior Night. Match is slated to being at 6:00 PM from Louisville High School.
