The Lady Leopards won the first two sets of their DI Uniontown Sectional Final match against host Lake, but the Blue Streaks rallied by taking the final three sets.  Louisville lost Wednesday’s match 25-13, 25-18, 22-25, 23-25, 12-15.

The Lady Leopards were in complete command as they dominated the first two sets 25-13, 25-18.  The chemistry was flowing and Louisville looked to sweep Lake as they had done back on September 1 in Uniontown.  But the script changed in the third set from a happy ending to an unwakeable nightmare as Lake would not go away.

In the third set, Lake leaped out to a 17-12 lead.  However, the Lady Leps rallied back to take a 22-21 advantage near the end of the set.  After that, the wheels of the rally bus came off and the Blue Streaks won the set 25-22.

The Leopards again had an opportunity to put Lake away late in the fourth set when they took leads of 22-20 and 23-22.  But Lake responded by scoring the final three points of the set to force a fifth and final set.

With all of the momentum in the Blue Streaks favor, Lake jumped out to a 5-1 advantage in the final set before pulling out to a 12-5 lead.  The Lady Leopards were backed into a corner, but they Beatty's Sports Grey Louisville Athletics T-Shirtclawed their way out with a 7-1 run to cut the deficit to 13-12. But, the hole they dug early was just too big to get out from as Lake came out of their timeout and scored the final two points to win the deciding set 15-12.

In their final high school game, Louisville’s Seniors shined bright.  Maddie Gramoy led all servers with 19 points & 3 aces and also had a team-high 24 assists, and Jordan Monnot finished with a game-high 14 kills to round out the Leopard offense.  On defense, Brittany Lowry led all players with 31 digs and Ashton Ruffing sent back 3 blocks.  Mackenzie Begue, Emily Wolfe, and Delaney Zwick also made key contributions in their final game playing for the blue and white.

Louisville finishes the season at 18-5 overall, which marks their fourth consecutive season with 15 or more wins.
