Louisville Freezes Lake 12-1 – Girls Lacrosse

The Louisville Leopards Girls Lacrosse Team earned a 12-1 victory over the visiting Lake Blue Streaks on a cold evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville remains unbeaten in improving to 3-0 on the season.
Mandy Wesely scored a game-high 4 goals to lead the Leopards. Maddie Bates and Marissa Vick also added 2 goals each for Louisville.
Overall 7 different Lady Leopards found the back of the net during the contest. Other goal scorers included Shelby Lewis, Kloe Mercorelli, Lauren Simon, and Lana Ulrich. Haley Black, Megan Vesely, and Vick all recorded assists as well.
On defense, Lia Meckel finished with 6 saves in goal. Louisville picked up 21 ground balls as a team led by Black with 5 and Tori Sharlow with 3. Wesely also won 8 of 13 face-offs for the game.
The Blue Streaks only goal came early on to cut the Leopards lead in half at 2-1 at the time. Louisville had kept the opposition off the scoreboard for 102:58 to start the season prior to that goal. Overall they have outscored opponents 52-1 through their first three games of the year.
The Leopards are now 5-0 against the Blue Streaks all-time which includes a 3-0 record at home in the series.
