The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team exploded for four second-half goals to take down the visiting Lake Blue Streaks 5-2 Saturday evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville improves to 3-4 on the season.

Schillig Strikes First, Brinton Answers

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville opened the scoring when senior Alyssa Schillig connected on a pass from Violet Lab and buried a shot into the back of the net at the 30:54 mark of the first half.

Lake answered with 15:16 remaining before halftime on a goal from Kylah Brinton, evening the score at 1-1 heading into the break.


Louisville Takes Command with 3 Goals in 3:35

Sophomore Gianna Kruse gave Louisville the lead back just over eight minutes in with a finish off another assist from Lab. Just 65 seconds later, sophomore Kasey Lint added to the momentum by scoring off a setup from Haile Folk to make it 3-1. Lint stayed involved moments later when she assisted junior Reese Riley on a strike to push the lead to 4-1.

The scoring burst—three goals in a span of 3:35—completely changed the game’s tone and put Louisville firmly in control.


Lint Records Multi-Goal Game

Lake managed to cut the deficit to 4-2 on Brinton’s second goal of the evening with under 12 minutes remaining. However, Lint would close the door with her second goal of the night, scoring unassisted with 2:58 to play to cement the 5-2 victory.

On the other end, junior goalkeeper Tristyn Edgein turned in a strong performance with 9 saves to help keep Lake at bay.

Louisville outshot Lake 14-11 for the evening and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.


Louisville Vs. Lake Girls Soccer Series

The Lady Leopards are now unbeaten against the Lady Streaks in each of the past three seasons. Louisville won 2-1 at home in 2023 and played a scoreless tie at Lake in 2024.

The Lady Leopards trail the all-time series with the Blue Streaks 4-14-5 dating back to 2004, which includes a 2-6-3 record in games played at Louisville. The five goals are the most the Lady Leopards have ever scored against the Blue Streaks.
