Keri Hupp of Louisville High School has recently been selected to compete in the Queen of Diamonds Showcase North (QDSN) at Kent State University on Jan. 5th and 6th, 2013. The QDSN is Beatty's Winter Hoodiesnow in it’s 19th season. The QDSN is part of the Queen of Diamonds Showcase Events which are the largest fastpitch showcases of its kind in the U.S. This event continues to attract athletes from 20+ states and 2 Canadian Provinces. It’s sister showcase, the Queen of Diamonds South, is in it’s 5th season. Both events have over 2,000 applicants in which only 264 athletes are selected. This showcase is very unique as athletes actually “apply to” the event individually and are selected based on many criteria ranging from ability, potential, academics, graduation year, and so on.

Keri has mainly played shortstop for the past two years for Louisville, but also plays third base and outfield. This coming Summer she will be playing for the Twisters organization. This is the second Big Event that Keri has been selected for in the past year. Over the Summer she was selected to go to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to attend the Softball Factory Maryland Select Training Program. She was recruited through a National Identification Program held in Ashland and was 1 of just 36 in attendance. With the generous help of family and countless friends she raised enough money to train with Lee Ann Jarvis and many accomplished College Coaches and players from across the country. She returned with a lot of knowledge and information on improving her game, on building life skills, and college preparation. Keri is very proud of her accomplishments and looks forward to representing Louisville once again this year.
