Louisville 4, Rootstown 1

The Louisville Lady Leopards blew past the Rootstown Rovers 4-1 Tuesday afternoon at Louisville High School.

Rachel Baughman and Sarah Jaroszyk scored two goals in the first half only 2:22 apart to help the Lady Leps take a 2-0 lead that they would never relinquish.  In the second half Mackenzie Storlie scored falling down to give Louisville a 3-nil advantage with 33:03 left in the game.  Another goal by Jaroszyk six minutes later put the final nail in the coffin for Louisville.

The Leps only hiccup came when the sprinkler system automatically came on during the game soaking the Louisville goal.  The home field disadvantage sprayed into the face of the Leopards goalie and blocked her vision allowing the Rovers to get on the board.

The Leps defense dominated the rest of the contest though as they cruised to a 4-1 win.

NEXT UP: The Lady Leps will take on the Alumni squad on Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 AM before opening up the regular season at Akron Firestone on Monday, August 22 at 5:00 PM.
