Cole Matches Kills Record as Lady Leps Go 1-2 at Jackson Invitational – Volleyball

Louisville Leopards Volleyball 2019 at Jackson Invitational

The Louisville Leopards Varsity and JV Volleyball Teams competed at the Jackson Invitational Tournament Saturday at Jackson High School. Both squads went 1-2 for the day and both are now an even 5-5 on the year. The Varsity fell to Revere and Highland before defeating the Stow Bulldogs. The JV lost to Marlington and Highland but defeated Solon.

Paige Cole was named to the Jackson Invitational All-Tournament Team with 54 kills in three matches. She also tied her own school record with 25 kills in the Leopards final match against Stow.

Revere 25-25 Louisville 17-22

The Lady Leopards fell to the Revere Minutemen in two sets 17-25, 22-25 to open the Jackson Invitational. Despite the loss, Senior Kaitlyn Baskerville finished with 8 service points and 4 digs to lead Louisville.

Junior Paige Cole also recorded a team-high 13 kills and Junior Amanda Clark had a team leading 16 assists.

Highland 24-25-25, Louisville 26-5-22

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdLouisville captured the first set against the Highland Hornets before dropping the next two to fall 26-24, 5-25, 22-25.

Junior Paige Cole finished with 16 kills and Junior Amanda Clark tallied 18 assists. Senior Kaitlyn Baskerville was again the Leopards leading server with 6 service points.

Junior Sydney Bast led Louisville’s defensive efforts with 5 digs.

Louisville 25-23-25, Stow 18-25-18

The Lady Leopards ended the tournament with a hard fought three set 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 victory over the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs. 

Junior Paige Cole tied her own team record for kills in a single match with 25 to lead Louisville. Cole also had 25 kills in a four set victory at North Canton Hoover on September 5 breaking the previous mark of 24 held by Jessica Lairson in a 2008 match.

Sophomore Kendal Loy was the Leopards leading server for the match with 18 points and 6 aces. Junior Amanda Clark set the table for Cole’s record with a team leading 25 assists and fellow Junior Sydney Bast also had 9 digs on defense.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the St. Thomas Aquinas Knights in the Battle for Louisville on Monday, September 17 in a Varsity only match starting at 6:00 PM.
