Cole Breaks Single Season Kills Record at Hoover Invitational – Volleyball

Louisville Leopards High School Volleyball Team 2019

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team competed at the Hoover Invitational Saturday at North Canton Hoover High School. The Lady Leopards did not surrender a single set in sweeping the Archbishop Hoban Knights, East Liverpool Potters, and Orrville Red Riders. Louisville has now won 10 consecutive matches which has propelled them from below .500 to 14-5 on the season.

In their opening match, Louisville defeated the Archbishop Hoban Knights in two close sets 25-21, 25-23.

Senior Kaitlyn Baskerville was the Leopards leading server with 9 points. Junior Paige Cole also finished with a team-high 12 kills and Junior Amanda Clark finished with a team leading 11 assists.

Louisville 25-25, East Liverpool 20-12

The Lady Leopards continued their winning ways with a 25-20, 25-12 sweep of the East Liverpool Potters in their second match of the Hoover Invitational.

Junior Paige Cole led Louisville with of 9 kills and 11 digs.

Sophomore Kendal Loy was the Leopards top server with 11 service points for the match. Junior Amanda Clark also recorded a team-high 9 assists.

Leps advance to 13-5 record

Louisville 25-25, Orrville 16-11

Louisville concluded their day at the Hoover Invitational with a 25-16, 25-11 win over the Orrville Red Riders.

Junior Paige Cole again led the Lady Leopards with a match-high 16 kills to go along with 9 digs on defense. Cole finished with 37 kills for the day which enabled her to break the school single season record for kills in a season. Cole has now recorded 308 kills this season which surpasses Alyx Crislip’s total of 306 during the 2010 season.

Senior Kaitlyn Baskerville and Junior Lauren Siegfried were the top Louisville servers for the match. Baskerville accumulated 14 service points while Siegfried dropped in 4 aces. Amanda Clark again led the way in assists with 16 giving her 36 for the day.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to face the Wooster Generals on Tuesday, October 1. JV will begin at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
