The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team tied the visiting Green Bulldogs 2-2 in their home opener Thursday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the draw, Louisville is now 1-0-1 on the young season.

Johnston and Swope Goals Put Leopards Ahead 2-0

Romeo's Pizza Louisville, Ohio AdNick Johnston broke the stalemate with 14:04 remaining in the first half to put the Leopards in front 1-0. Raiden Lindner notched the assist on the score. The goal was Johnston’s second in as many games and Louisville rode that 1-0 advantage into the half.

The Leopards extended their lead to 2-0 via a goal by Kadan Swope near the end of the 47th minute. Dominic Porter-Kovacich delivered the assist on the play, his team-leading third assist of the season.


Bulldogs Strike Back to Knot the Game at 2-2

Green rallied back with a pair of second half goals to secure the draw. Owen Smythe scored on a penalty kick just 2:55 after Swope put Louisville ahead 2-0. 

The Bulldogs tied the game when Logan Noirot found the back of the net with 18:26 remaining. 


Foradis Records 8 Saves in Goal

Neither team would score the rest of the way. Leopard goalkeeper Giovanni Foradis would finish with 8 saves.


Leopards Vs. Bulldogs Boys Soccer Series

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThis is the second straight year that Louisville and Green have tied in boys soccer. Last year, the two teams played to a scoreless draw.

The Leopards are 0-3-2 against the Bulldogs all-time with this being the first matchup played at Louisville in the series. The Leopards have only scored 3 goals against Green in their five meetings, 2 of which came Thursday.
