Louisville Shutout By GlenOak at Home 2-0 – Girls Soccer
GlenOak 2, Louisville 0
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team was blanked by the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles 2-0 late Saturday afternoon at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville falls to 1-2-1 on the season.
GlenOak did all their scoring in the opening half. Hannah Borchfield scored both goals to lead the Lady Eagles. Emma Pooley provided an assist on the first goal that found the top corner of the net. The second goal was unassisted.
The Golden Eagles out-shot the Leopards 31-13 and held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Despite the final result, Louisville goalkeeper Amelia Henderhan recorded 19 saves to hold the GlenOak onslaught at bay as much as possible.
The Leopards have now lost 4 of their last 5 against the Golden Eagles. Louisville tied GlenOak on the road last year, but has not produced a victory over GHS since a 4-3 home win in 2016. The Lady Leopards still lead the all-time series 9-8-4, which includes a 6-5-1 edge in games played at LHS. However, the Golden Eagles now hold a 38-37 edge in total goals scored. Both teams have now recorded 6 shutouts in the 21-game series.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Carrollton Warriors on Monday, August 31. Game time is set for 7:00 PM at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
