Girls Golf Downs Lake & Central in Triangular

Louisville 174, Lake 179, Central Catholic 203

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Golf team defeated both of their opponents at Sable Creek Golf Course Thursday. Louisville downed host Lake 174-179 and also defeated Canton Central Catholic 174-203. With the victories, the Leopards are now 11-2 on the year.

Sierra Townsend shot a match-low 39 to lead Louisville. Also scoring for the Leopards were Abby Beaver 42, Gabby Spehar 43, and Bailey Spring 50.

The 174 team score fell just one stroke short of the all-time Lady Leopards record for a 9-hole match. The mark of 173 was set at Skyland Pines on September 17, 2013 when they defeated the visiting Perry Panthers 173-248.

The Blue Streaks were led by Paige Gmerek and Emily Popio who each shot a team-low 44. Alexis Niemi also finished with a team-low 46 to lead the Crusaders.

Louisville is now 3-3 against Central Catholic all-time, which includes a 2-0 mark at neutral courses. Louisville is also 4-3 against Lake all-time, which includes a 2-1 mark on the road.
