Freshman Leopards Still Undefeated in NBC At Schedule Midpoint

Alec Jones scored a game-high 12 points and Matt Eddins added 11 to lead the Leopards to a 60-33 win over the Carrollton Warriors Thursday evening at Louisville Elementary School.
Louisville took an early 10-2 lead before the Warriors rallied to tie the game at 12-12 in the second quarter. The Leopards answered back by going on a 32-2 run and at one point shutout the Warriors for a span of 10:37.
Eddins along with Connor Bast hit 3 three-pointers a piece in the contest, while the Leopards shot 52% (24 of 46) from the field as a team.
Carrollton was led by Isaiah Donohue and Jimmy O’Donnell who each scored 7 points. The Warriors managed to outscore the Leopards 15-13 in the final stanza, but the damage had already been done.
With the victory, the Leopards are now 8-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in NBC play.

Alec Jones led Louisville with 12 points and Jarett Heater scored 11 during the Leps 58-40 win over the visiting Salem Quakers back on December 20.
The Quakers held an 11-10 advantage after the first quarter, but the Leopards outscored them 31-13 over the next two quarters and cruised to victory.
Kyle Ashcraft also scored 9 points, while Matt Eddins hit 2 three-pointers to add 8 and Brock Haren matched that total with 8.

The host Jackson Polar Bears handed the Leopards their first and only loss of the season in a convincing 57-34 fashion.
Jackson was led by Shane Kelly who scored 15 points and nailed 3 three-pointers, and Sam Miller who poured in 11.
The Polar Bears outscored the Leopards in every quarter to build their advantage while holding Louisville to a 34% shooting performance from the field. Louisville also kicked themselves by making just 5 of 12 free throws (42%).
Alec Jones led Louisville with 2 three-pointers and 10 points, while Brock Haren and Anthony Vernier each added 6 in the loss.

Louisville rallied from a 9-point fourth quarter deficit to keep their undefeated NBC record alive. The Leopards outscored the visiting Dukes 21-6 in the fourth quarter before winning the game 39-33 back on December 17.
Alec Jones led the Leps with 9 points, while Kyle Ashcraft and Daichi Castles each added 7.
Marlington built a first quarter lead of 9-6, halftime lead of 21-12, and matched the Leopards in the third quarter to take a 27-18 lead into the final period. The Leopards shot just 33% from the field, but managed to produce 21 points in the final stanza to take the win. Louisville also shot 75% (9 of 12) from the free throw line in the game.
Brock Haren and Anthony Vernier also scored 5 points each for the Freshman Leopards who improved to 39-0 against the NBC since 7th Grade.
The Dukes were led by Garrett Ford with 11 points and Mitchell Baxter with 6.

The Leopards proved to be the King of Louisville at the Freshman level by earning a 57-36 win over crosstown St. Thomas Aquinas on December 12.
Matt Eddins led the Leopards by making their only three-pointer and scoring a game-high 12 points. Alec Jones also reached double digits in pouring in 10 points.
The Knight held an 11-10 lead after the opening quarter, but the Leps rallied back with a 15-5 second quarter to take a 9-point lead into the half. Louisville then buried St. Thomas in the second half by outscoring them 32-20.
Brock Haren and Anthony Vernier also made four baskets each for the Leps.
The Knights were led by Trent Davis with 11 points and Gino Pellegrene with 9.
