First Set Rally Propels Lady Leps to Sweep of Carrollton

Louisville 25-25-25, Carrollton 19-16-13

The Lady Leopards swept the Carrollton Warriors 25-19, 25-16, 25-13 Saturday at Louisville Middle School. The turning point in the contest came in the first set. Louisville was letting the game slip away when Head Coach Jodie Cress called time out with Carrollton in the lead 18-15. The Lady Leps responded to Cress’s fiery speech by scoring 10 of the next 11 points in taking the set 25-19.

Offensively, Danielle Baker was the lead server with 8 points and 3 aces, Molly Brown had 10 kills, and Maddie Gramoy had 20 assists.

Defensively, Brown also had 15 digs and Jordan Monnot also added 3 blocks.

It wasn’t the prettiest win for the Lady Leopards this season, but it was a sweep nevertheless to help them improve to 13-7 on the year and 9-3 in the conference.

JV RESULT: Louisville 25-27, Carrollton 11-25

NEXT UP: The Leopards will rematch the Warriors again at Carrollton on Tuesday, October 11. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at approximately 6:30 PM.
