The Louisville Leopards Boys Golf Team defeated the visiting East Canton Hornets Tuesday at Sleepy Hollow Country Club. With the victory, Louisville evens their record at 2-2 on the season.

Karcher Shoots Competitive Low 38 to Lead LHS

The Leopards were led by junior medalist Sam Karcher who shot a new competitive low 38 for the match. Sophomore Zach Root also finished with a 40 for the day. Junior Caleb Harsh and sophomore Jack Mayle also tallied 42 each to round out the Louisville scoring.

Just outside of the scoring was Ian DiMarzio with a new competitive low of 44.

Best Putting Performance of McFerren’s Career

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdOn the day, 5 of the 6 boys added their name to the thirty-seven page Louisville Golf record book based on their putting performances. DiMarzio tied the second lowest 9 hole putt total with 12 while Mayle, Root, Karcher, and Harsh each finished with 13 putts apiece (Miller was just outside the record book with 14 putts).

Kandel Cards Team Low 48 to Lead East Canton

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe Hornets were led by Jeremiah Kandel who shot a team best 48. Other East Canton scores included Mia Steigerwald 55, Owen Gelsey 59, and Carter Menegay 62.

This was the first ever meeting between the neighboring schools in boys varsity golf with this being the Hornets inaugural season as a program.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Perry Panthers on Thursday, September 2. Match time is set for 4:00 PM from Sleepy Hollow Country Club. JV will be back in action on Wednesday, September 1 when they host the Dover Tornadoes at 4:00 PM.
