Lady Leopards Demolish Dover in Return Home – Girls Basketball

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Louisville Leopards Girls Basketball Team defeated the visiting Dover Tornadoes 57-30 Monday Night at Louisville High School. The game was the Lady Leopards first at home in two weeks after going 1-5 in six away games in-between. Louisville is now 4-9 on the season with the victory.

Senior Sherilynn Mullett scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Other Louisville players in double figures included senior Page Cole with 12 and junior Kendal Loy with 11.

Leopards Use a Pair of Runs to Take Command

Dover managed to get back within 8-7 heading into the second quarter, but Louisville began the new period on a 14-0 run to take a 22-7 advantage.

The Leopards would take a comfortable 24-12 lead into the break and rolled to victory in the second half. They picked up right where they left off with a 9-0 run to begin the third quarter.


Louisville Shuts Out Dover from the Field in 3rd

Samantha's Grill AdLouisville’s defense held Dover without a basket from the field from the final minute of the second quarter through the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. The Lady Leopards outscored the Lady Tornadoes 18-3 in the third quarter to take a commanding 42-15 lead into the final stanza.

Dover doubled their point total in the fourth quarter as each team scored 15 points during the final eight minutes.


Jones Leads Tornadoes with Team-High 15

The Lady Tornadoes were led by junior shooting guard Tori Jones who scored half of Dover’s points with a team-high 15. Senior power forward Lia Conner also scored 6 and junior forward Taylor Luneborg added 4.

The victory marks the Lady Leopards third straight win over the Lady Tornadoes dating back to 2005. Louisville is now 8-6 all-time against Dover, which includes a 4-3 record at home.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Youngstown Chaney Cowgirls on Wednesday, January 27. Senior Night will begin at 5:45 PM and Varsity will follow at 6:00 PM. There will be no JV game.
