The DI #6 ranked Louisville Leopards Varsity Basketball Team earned a convincing 80-60 victory over the previously unbeaten DII #5 ranked CVCA Royals Tuesday Night at Louisville High School. With their 11th straight victory, Louisville improves to 12-1 on the season.

Gross Scores Career High 27

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdJunior forward Brayden Gross scored 17 of his game high 27 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. He was held scoreless from the field in the opening quarter, but would finish with 10 field goals for the game. Gross was also dominant on the glass, which included multiple putbacks on the offensive end.


Four Finish in Double Figures for Louisville

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdFour different players finished in double figures for Louisville. Senior guard Hayden Nigro scored 9 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Junior point guard Beau Siegfried made 3 three-pointers and tallied 14. Junior guard Tate Aljancic also made a pair of three-pointers and hit double digits with 10.

Junior guard Ashton Marshall registered 8 for the Leopards. Junior guard Avery Andrejcik and junior post Kolton Loy rounded out the Louisville scoring with a basket each.

Most of the first quarter was a seesaw affair as the lead exchanged hands five times. The Leopards took control of the game with a 7-1 run to end the first quarter and never looked back. Louisville outscored CVCA 21-14 in the second, 18-12 in the third, and 25-23 in the fourth quarter to take home the convincing 20-point victory.


Nuru Scores Team High 17 for CVCA

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieJunior guard Niles Nuru scored 10 of his team high 17 points in the second half to lead the Royals. Sophomore Charley Levak also dropped in 16 and senior guard LaVelle Sharpe Jr. tacked on 14.

CVCA was undefeated coming into the night and now holds a 12-1 record with the loss.

This was the first ever meeting between the two programs in boys basketball.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Boardman Spartans on Saturday, January 20. JV will begin at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
