Cross Country Teams Advance to Boardman Regional!

Both the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams qualified for Regionals after their performance in the Division I Canton District Meet at Malone University Saturday.  The Boys team took 5th overall out of 18 teams (163) and the Girls squad placed 4th overall out of 16 teams (125).

Mackenzie Rankin (19:16.81) finished just 9.24 seconds behind Canfield’s District Champion Emma Lunne (19:07.57) to take second place individually for the second straight year.  The Lady Leopards that followed Rankin included Michelle Stamp (11th), Sarah Davis (27th), Isabel Kiko (40th), and Lindsay Hall (45th).    The Louisville girls totaled 125 places which was good enough for fourth place behind Jackson (55), Hoover (95), and GlenOak (103).  Rankin will look for her second straight individual Regional Title next week at Boardman and the Lady Leopards will look for another state birth.

For the Boys, Nick Thomas (16:43.50) paced the Leopards by finishing sixth overall.  Also placing for Louisville was Nick Koczwara (20), Sean Gronow (38th), Andrew Milburn (46th), and Ben Tornow (53rd).  The Louisville boys totaled 163 places which gave them fifth place overall behind Boardman (62), GlenOak (104), Jackson (130), and Hoover (146).  The Boys Team will be looking to get back to the State Meet after failing to qualify last season.
