Cross Country: Rankin Wins Region, Lady Leps Advance to State

Mackenzie Rankin Louisville Lady Leopards Cross Country

CROSS COUNTRY

Mackenzie Rankin finished with a time of 19:38.54 capturing first place individually to help send the Lady Leopards to the State Meet next week.  The Girls Cross Country team placed second at Regionals in Youngstown on Saturday just behind Regional Champion Hudson.

Rankin finished 22.55 seconds ahead of Solon’s second place runner Therese Haiss.  Also lifting Louisville to state was the 20th place finish of Michelle Stamp and the 25th place finish of Amanda Oberster.

The boys team finished their season by placing 10th at the Youngstown Regional.  Garrett Dasco placed 39th and had a team best run of 18:21.44, while Nick Thomas finished 43rd about five seconds behind Dasco.

NEXT UP: The Girls Cross Country team will compete in the State Meet at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 5.
