Cross Country Boys Place 2nd, Girls 7th at District Meet
Boys – 68 (2nd Out of 14)
The Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country placed 2nd out of 14 teams at the DI Canton District Meet at Malone University Saturday. They finished with with 68 total places only behind the first place Lake Blue Streaks who finished with 47. Their performance was good enough to qualify them as a team for the Boardman Regional Race next Saturday.
Individually Nick Chaplik finished at the Leopards fastest runner in 7th place with a time of 16:33.82. Twin Brother Noah Chaplik finished right behind him in 8th place with a time of 16:36.87.
Earlier in the season, Ben Tornow was taken away in an ambulance at the Malone Invitational. On the same course Saturday, Tornow took an impressive 11th place with a time of 16:38.76.
Rounding out the Louisville top five runners were Zach Fresenko in 12th (16:39.13) and Jacob Milburn in 30th (17:19.76).
Girls – 223 (7th Out of 11)
The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Cross Country concluded their season by finishing 7th out of 11 teams at the DI Canton District Meet at Malone University Saturday. The Lady Leopards finished with 223 total places.
For Louisville, Isabel Kiko finished with a team best time of 21:58.60 which was good enough for 36th place. Also scoring for the Leopards were Ashlee Beaver in 43rd (22:27.14), Iris Menagay (22:33.89), Adriana Beaver (22:56.39), and Allyssa Warren (23:00.54).
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Youngstown Regional Meet at Boardman on Saturday, October 25.
