Carrollton Warriors at Louisville Leopards Softball 2018 Video Highlights

Sarah Cantley threw a no-hitter as the Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team blanked the visiting Carrollton Warriors 10-0 in 6 innings for Senior Night Monday at the Diamond of Dreams. With the victory, the now #2 ranked Lady Leopards improve to 19-1 overall and 10-1 in the NBC.
Cantley struck out 8 of the first 10 Warriors she faced en rout to her third career no-hitter. Cantley would go on to fan 11 and only allow 3 baserunners throughout the game. Two Carrollton players got on via error and Cantley’s only blemish was a 7-pitch walk in the opening inning.
Cantley did not need to close out the game in the top of the seventh, because the Louisville offense produced 10 runs in the course of the final 3 innings. Justina Sirohman blasted a three-run homer to break the scoreless tie in the fourth and Kaycee Ollis cracked a 2-run bomb in the fifth to make it 5-0 Leopards. Louisville has now hit a total of 17 home runs this season with Ollis leading the pack with 5. Both Sirohman and Ollis would finish 2-for-3 on the evening.
The Leopards finished off the Warriors in the bottom of the sixth with five 1-out runs. Alex Fankhauser walked, and both Sirohman and Ellie Jackson singled to load the bases. After a fielder’s choice, Ashley Zifer drew a four pitch walk to bring home Sirohman from third. Then Sydney McKeever reaches on a bloop fly over the Shortstop bringing home Jackson from third. Finally, Teagan Rice smashed a 3-run walk-off double center scoring Bobo, Zifer, and McKeever for the clinching run.
Rice finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a single earlier. Rice also made the defensive play of the game to preserve Cantley’s no-hitter. She alertly stabbed a line drive on the first pitch of the fifth inning. Cantley retired 5 of the final 6 Carrollton hitters with only one reaching on error in the sixth.
