The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team crushed the visiting Cardinal Mooney Cardinals 60-25 Wednesday night at Louisville High School. With their fourth straight victory, Louisville, which began the season at 1-5, has now climbed above .500 at 11-10 on the season.

Baker Scores 20+ for Third Straight Game
Maggie Baker scored 11 of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter to lead the Lady Leopards in her final home regular season game. Baker made 3 of her 5 three-pointers in the opening period as well, before adding 2 more treys in the second half.
Baker has now topped 20 points in three straight games, totaling 77 points during that stretch. She has also cracked double figures in each of the last five games.
Louisville led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Tillett Scores 14 and Leads Defense
Ella Tillett scored all 14 of her points from the field, including 4 baskets in the second quarter. The Leopards strung together a 10-0 run early in the second quarter to pull ahead 27-10 before taking a 32-15 lead into the break. Tillett unofficially had 5 blocks in the opening half.
Louisville never looked back, outscoring Cardinal Mooney 19-7 in the third quarter and 9-3 in the fourth quarter to take home a 35-point victory.
Other scorers for the Lady Leopards included Kloey Rukavina with 6, Ava Seitz with 5, Mabel Kiko with 4, and Makayla Tanner with 3.
Diorio Drops in Team-High 13 to Lead Cardinals
Julia Diorio scored 10 of her team-high 13 points in the first half to lead Cardinal Mooney. Diorio also banked home the Cardinals’ only 2 three-pointers on the evening.
Cassidy Carlson scored 5 points and Brandi Williams added 3. Reagan Savaet and Mariah Tsikouris rounded out the Mooney scoring with 2 points each.
The Cardinals lost their first 20 games before defeating Jefferson Area 40-36 on Monday. Cardinal Mooney finishes the regular season with a record of 1-21.
Louisville Remains Unbeaten Against Mooney
The Lady Leopards are now 5-0 against the Cardinals all-time. That includes three road wins at Mooney and two victories at Louisville.. The Lady Leopards defeated the Cardinals 57-42 for their other home win in the series in 2019.
