Lady Leopards Bounce Back with 5-0 Shutout of Central – Girls Tennis

After getting blanked the day before, the Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team bounced back with a dominate 5-0 shutout of the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders Wednesday Evening at Louisville High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 7-2 on the year.
Rachel Kibler set the tone in #1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory. Jo Menegay earned a convincing 6-1 win in her first set of #2 singles before taking the match by default. Rounding out the Leopards singles sweep was Sherilynn Mullett who was also victorious 7-5, 6-4 in her #3 singles matchup.
Louisville’s doubles teams followed suit by taking down Central Catholic in both matches. The #1 doubles team of Amanda Plaskett and Jade Thomas won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. The #2 doubles team of Carleen Fouts and Bailey Menegay rallied for a 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-4 victory.
The win snaps the Leopards 3 match losing streak against the Crusaders. Central Catholic had taken 8 out of the last 9 meetings in the series overall before Wednesday. Louisville still leads the all-time series 18-11.
