The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team shutout the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders 5-0 Monday at the newly named Greg Parrish Courts. With the victory, Louisville remains unbeaten at 2-0 on the young season.

Lady Leopards Win Every Match in Two Sets

Re-Elect Corey Street Louisville City Council Ad

The Lady Leopards won ever match in two sets, which included two dominate performances in doubles action. The #1 team of Bailey Menegay & McKenzie Taylor only gave up a single set point in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The #2 team of Ashley Dadisman and Kora Woolfe were also victorious 6-2, 6-1.

In singles action, senior Rachel Kibler was nearly perfect in #1 singles winning by the count of of 6-1, 6-0 for Louisville. In #2 singles, Jade Thomas won two competitive sets 7-5, 7-6 (7-1). Finally, in #3 singles Katie Yarnall also won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 for LHS.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Lady Leopards have now won three straight against the Lady Crusaders dating back to the 2019 season. Louisville now leads the all-time series 18-11 overall with this being the fifth time LHS has shutout Central since the series began back in 1976.


Parrish Honored Prior to Match

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdLegendary Louisville Leopards Tennis Coach Greg Parrish was honored prior to the match against Central by Athletic Director Terrie Horn, Head Coach Rod Hall, Mayor Pat Fallot, and LHS Principal Garry Tausch. August 23rd was proclaimed “Greg Parrish Day” by Mayor Fallot and Coach Hall unveiled the new Louisville Tennis league championship sign which reads “Greg Parrish Courts” at the top signifying the new name of the venue.

Parrish helped start the Leopard Tennis program in 1976 and coached for 31 years. He compiled a combined record of 808-258 and won 18 league titles while coaching both the Louisville Boys and Girls programs. Parrish retired from coaching at LHS in 2005 and was later inducted into the Ohio High School Tennis Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame in 2008 and Louisville High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
