Lady Leopards Rally Past Central on Senior Night – Girls Soccer
Louisville 7, Canton Central Catholic 3
The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 7-3 Senior Night victory over the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders Wednesday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville is now 7-4-2 on the year.
Seniors Jenny Hamsher and Tapanga Smith each scored two goals to lead the Lady Leopards Senior Night rally. Hamsher also recorded a pair of assists and Smith notched an assist on another score. Junior Gabby Smith also scored a pair of goals and Sophomore Morgan Mayle added a score for Louisville.
Louisville trailed 2-0 at the start and went into the half down 2-1. The Leopards went on to outscore the Crusaders 5-1 in the second half to take the contest 7-3.
With the victory, the Leopards have now won 3 straight over the Crusaders. Louisville now leads the all-time series over Central 4-1, which includes a 2-1 record in matches played at LHS. This was the highest scoring matchup between the two schools in their series history.
Prior to the match, Louisville honored its five Lady Leopard Soccer Seniors. Those Seniors included Destini Adorisio, Jenny Hamsher, Megan Hampe, Lia Meckel, and Tapanga Smith. Leopard Nation would like to thank these Seniors for their hard work and dedication to the Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Program and wish them the best of luck in their future beyond high school!
