Lady Leopards Win High-Scoring Affair with Canfield at Walsh – Girls Lacrosse
Louisville 15, Canfield 10
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team downed the visiting Canfield Cardinals 15-10 in a home game played at Walsh University Thursday Evening. With the victory, Louisville improves to 11-1 on the year.
Haley Black scored a team-high 5 goals and Mandy Wesely tied a team record with 5 assists to lead the Lady Leopards. Wesely tied teammate Kloe Mercorelli’s 5 assist performance in the season opener at GlenOak and also Alexa Oberster who scored 9 goals and registered 5 assists at Poland in 2017.
Marissa Vick also scored 4 goals and both Lana Ulrich and Katie Hollifield scored a pair each for Louisville. Mercorelli and Wesely also found the net for LHS.
In a total team effort, 12 of the Leopards 15 goals were assisted. Mercorelli finished with 3 assists and Ulirch added 2 assists. Others recording assists for Louisville included Maddie Bates, Katie Hollifield, and Tori Sharlow.
The defense was led by Kristen Flinner who recorded 4 ground balls. Shelby Lewis and Madison Murray also fielded 3 ground balls a piece for LHS.

UP NEXT: The Louisville Girls Lacrosse Team will next travel to Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary to take on the Fighting Irish on Wednesday, May 9. JV will start at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM.
