The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team fell to the visiting Canfield Cardinals 2-0 Tuesday night at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
Canfield scored once in each half to complete the season sweep of Louisville and remain unbeaten on the year. The Cardinals improve to 9-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 in All-American Conference play, while the Leopards fall to 4-5-1 overall and 2-4 in the AAC.

Goodrich Gives Canfield First-Half Lead
The Cardinals broke the scoreless tie late in the opening half when Luke Goodrich found the back of the net with 8:16 remaining. Goodrich also scored the lone first half goal on a free quick in their first matchup earlier in the year on September 10.
Louisville was unable to produce an equalizer before the break as Canfield carried its 1-0 advantage into halftime.
The Leopards kept the deficit at one throughout most of the second half, but the Cardinals eventually found an insurance goal in the closing minutes.
Kapki Adds Insurance Goal
Canfield doubled its advantage with 3:42 remaining on a combination between Collin Casey and Yigit Kapki.
Casey controlled the ball on the left side of the penalty box before sending a cross toward the front of goal. Kapki met the pass in stride and redirected it into the net to extend the Cardinals’ lead to 2-0.
Louisville was unable to answer in the remaining time as Canfield closed out its second shutout of the Leopards this season.
Cardinals Sweep Season Series
Tuesday marked the second meeting between Louisville and Canfield this season and produced the same 2-0 final as their September 10 matchup at Bob Dove Field.
Canfield has now won all three meetings in the all-time series. The Cardinals defeated Louisville 6-0 in the programs’ first matchup in 2009 before the series resumed this season as part of Louisville’s move into the All-American Conference.
The Leopards are now 0-3 all-time against Canfield and have yet to score against the Cardinals. Canfield has outscored Louisville 10-0 across the three meetings, including a 4-0 advantage in the two AAC contests this season.
