Boys Cross Country Wins District Championship, Girls Take 8th

Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country Canton District Meet

Boys – 56 (1st Out of 12)

The Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country team took 1st place out of 12 teams at the DI Beatty's Sports White Hat AdCanton District Meet at Malone University Saturday. The District Title is the Leopards second in the past four seasons. The Leps finished 12 places ahead of Lake, who had 2 of the Meet’s top runners.

Louisville had three runners finish among the top ten. Nick Chaplick had a team best time of 16:50.1 which earned him fifth place overall. Finishing just behind him were Ben Tornow (8th) and Noah Chaplick (9th).

The Leopards showed how deep they were as all seven runners finished in the top half of the pack. The others included Zach Fresenko (13th), Nick Thomas (21st), Sean Gronow (28th), and Andrew Milburn (41st).

Louisville will look to take the next step in repeating their 2010 run to state when they compete at the DI Boardman Regional next Saturday.

Girls – 214 (8th Out of 10)

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Cross Country team took 8th place out of 10 teams at the DI Canton District Meet at Malone University Saturday.

Haley Bradley finished with a team best time of 20:47.1 which earned her 17th place overall. The Lady Leopards other runners included Ashlee Beaver (52nd), Adriana Beaver (53rd), Ashley Smith (63rd), Spencer Duvall (70th), and Anna Wade (72nd).

While the girls will not advance to Regionals as a team, it was a great season none the less for our Girls Cross Country runners!
