Boys Basketball Makes Magics Disappear 59-45
Louisville 59, Barberton 45
The Louisville Leopards downed the visiting Barberton Magics 59-45 Tuesday evening at LHS. With the win, Louisville improves to 16-3 on the year.
Blake Hoover led the Leopards with a double double as he scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds. Joe Crank also scored 11 points and Drew Noble broke double figures with 10. Both Crank and Noble also dished out 4 assists a piece for Louisville.
The Leopards roared out of the gate taking a 19-4 advantage after the first quarter and a 38-16 lead at the half. The Magics cut into the deficit with a small run at the start of the second half. However, Louisville unraveled their bag of tricks and cruised to victory after that.
Barberton was led by Kyle Haywood who scored a team-high 12. Austin Rector also scored double digits with 10 points & a game-high 3 steals and Buzz Walker added 9.
The Leopards have now won 8 of their last 9 games overall. The Magics still lead the known all-time series 3-2, but Louisville has won the last two meetings.
Prior to the contest, Louisville honored its Senior Cheerleaders as well as is three Senior Boys Basketball Players Joe Crank, Blake Hoover, and Austin Shaheen. Leopard Nation would personally like to thank these Seniors for all the great memories and for helping make Leopards Basketball what it is today!
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Marlington to take on the Dukes on Friday, January 20. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:30 PM. A victory at MHS would give Louisville the NBC Title Outright.
