Leopards Set the Tone Early
Louisville wasted no time building separation, opening the dual with four straight falls. Emilio Rodriguez (106) set the tone with a quick 1:19 pin of Lakota Stanton, followed by Paxton Laughlin (113) sticking Landon Haynes in 2:04. Xavier Pollard (120) continued the momentum with a 3:04 fall, and Colton Rhoads (126) capped the opening run with a commanding 21-1 technical fall, pushing the Leopards out to a 23-0 lead.
Barker, Criss Halt Boardman Momentum
Boardman’s lone points came at 132, where Isaiah Payne earned a win by disqualification over Liam Montgomery, though the Spartans were also docked a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct during the bout. Louisville quickly reasserted control, as Kaiden Barker (138) responded with a 20-5 technical fall, and Aric Criss (144) followed with a strong 3:36 pin.
Middle Weights Extend the Margin
The middle weights continued the onslaught. Mikhail Montgomery (150) recorded a 4:33 fall, while Hunter Clark (157) needed just 1:57 to secure a pin. At 165, Lucas Neff delivered another fall in 3:01, extending the Louisville lead past the halfway mark of the dual.
Leopards Close Strong
Louisville closed the night with authority. Brayden Elsass (175) earned the Leopards’ lone decision of the night, a solid 11-3 major decision, before Micah Bricker (190) and Jakeb Beard (215) each picked up wins by forfeit. Heavyweight Zander McCrobie (285) punctuated the victory with a 17-2 technical fall, sealing the final margin.
With bonus points in nearly every bout and contributions throughout the lineup, Louisville showcased both depth and firepower in a convincing season-opening dual.
