Babcock’s Hat Trick Fuels Late Leopard Rally
Sophomore Izzy Babcock continued her scoring surge with another hat trick, including two clutch fourth-quarter goals to send the game to overtime. Babcock scored just 10 seconds into the fourth quarter, winning the face-off, flipping it to herself, and racing straight to the net for a goal that cut the deficit to 6-5. After Boardman responded to make it 7-5, Cheyanne Franklin scored off a feed from Grace Diller with under three minutes to play to bring the Leopards within one.
With only seconds remaining, Babcock was fouled and awarded a free shot opportunity. She calmly stepped up and scored with just three seconds left to tie the game at 7-7, sending the Lady Leopards into sudden death overtime for the first time since 2017.
Genet Delivers Golden Goal in Double OT
After a scoreless three-minute overtime, Louisville seized the moment in double overtime. The game-winning play began behind the goal, where Diller quickly flipped an inbound pass to Genet standing in front of the crease. Genet caught it clean and ripped it into the back of the net for the walk-off goal.
Genet was mobbed by her teammates as the Leopard bench stormed onto the field in celebration of their first home win of the season.
Franklin Notches Multi-Goal Game
Franklin scored a pair of goals in the game, including one in the first quarter off an assist from Emmy Harter and another in the fourth that sparked the comeback.
Freshman Grace Diller circled the net before scoring in the second quarter and assisted twice, including the game-winner. Sophomore Ashley Milburn also found the back of the net in the second, making a slick move to bounce off a defender and finish with poise.
Austin Scores Game-High 5 Goals for Spartans
Cassie Austin scored four goals to lead Boardman, including the final two goals of the first quarter, giving the Spartans a commanding 4-1 lead. Austin’s final goal came off a feed from Lydia Kenney to put Boardman ahead 7-5 with 7:28 to play.
Kenney recorded a pair of goals, while Ava Gaps added a goal and an assist.
The Lady Spartans have now dropped five straight and fall to 3-7 on the season.

First Double Overtime Game in Team History
This was the first ever home game to go to overtime in the history of the Louisville Leopards Girls Lacrosse program. The only other time that the Lady Leopards entered overtime was on the road at CVCA in 2017. Mandy Wesely scored the golden goal in that game that Louisville also won by the count of 8-7.
Monday’s matchup marked the first Louisville girls lacrosse game to enter into a double overtime.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Girls Lacrosse Team will next travel to take on the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals on Monday, April 28. Game time is set for 6:30 PM from Cardinal Mooney High School.
