Seitz Puts Louisville in Front
Louisville struck first with 15:46 remaining in the opening half following a sequence that began with Riley pressuring the GlenOak defense.
A Golden Eagle defender knocked the ball toward the left side of the penalty area, where Riley tracked it down and crossed back toward the right. Kasey Lint collected the ball near the end line on the right side of the box and quickly sent it back into the middle.
Ava Seitz was waiting in the penalty area and buried the feed into the right side of the net to give the Lady Leopards a 1-0 advantage.
GlenOak Answers Before Halftime
The Golden Eagles responded with 7:14 remaining before the break following a corner kick from Payton Bowman on the left side.
Louisville initially attempted to clear the service, but the ball deflected off another Leopard defender and fell to Maggie Triner. Triner capitalized on the loose ball and drove a shot into the top of the net, just beyond the reach of Edgein, to tie the game at 1-1.
The teams remained deadlocked through halftime and for nearly the entire second half before Riley’s late game-winner.
Riley Heads Home Game-Winner With 2:24 Left
The match became increasingly physical after halftime, with both teams receiving yellow cards and scoring chances becoming difficult to find.
It appeared the game might finish 1-1 until Louisville earned one final opportunity late.
GlenOak’s Myana Lyon fouled Seitz as she broke away near midfield, resulting in a yellow card and giving Louisville a free kick from approximately 54 yards out.
Edgein came forward to take it.
The senior goalkeeper delivered a perfectly placed ball that dropped into the center of the penalty area about 12 yards from goal. The kick took a high bounce off the turf, and Riley came charging into the box.
Riley met the bouncing ball with her head and redirected it into the back of the net to give Louisville an improbable 2-1 lead with just 2:24 remaining.
The Lady Leopards protected the advantage through the final whistle to complete their record-setting regular season.
Louisville and GlenOak Unite for Kick-For-A-Cure Night
Wednesday’s matchup carried significance well beyond the scoreboard as Louisville and GlenOak came together for Kick-For-A-Cure Night.
Both teams joined in supporting Louisville High School student Aireana Vlacovsky, who was recently diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. Aireana was welcomed by family, friends, players, and members of the community who gathered around her in support.
The evening also featured raffles, baked goods, food trucks, and other fundraising efforts benefiting Aireana and her family.
It was a night that brought the two soccer programs together for a cause much larger than the game itself.
Louisville Beats GlenOak for First Time Since 2016
Wednesday marked the 27th all-time meeting between the neighboring programs and Louisville’s first victory over GlenOak since a 4-3 win in 2016.
The Golden Eagles had won each of the previous six meetings dating back to 2020 and were 9-0-1 against the Leopards in their last 10 meetings.
With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-13-4 all-time against GlenOak, including a 7-7-1 record at home. The Lady Leopards have now scored 42 goals in the series compared to 51 for the Golden Eagles.
The programs have also met four times in OHSAA tournament play, splitting those contests 2-2.

Louisville Sets Regular-Season Wins and Winning Streak Records
Wednesday’s victory added two major accomplishments to an already historic season.
Louisville’s 15 regular-season victories establish a new program record, surpassing the 2013 team that went 14-1-1 during the regular season.
The Lady Leopards also won their 10th consecutive game, breaking the previous single-season winning streak record of nine established by the 2012 team. Louisville also had a separate nine-game regular-season winning streak that began late in 2012 and carried into an 8-0 start to the 2013 campaign.
At 15-2, this year’s Lady Leopards have also tied the program record for total victories in a season. Both the 2012 and 2013 teams finished with 15 wins.
Louisville will have an opportunity to stand alone with victory No. 16 when tournament play begins.
UP NEXT: The #7 seed Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team will next host the #27 seed Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions in the DIII Northeast 1 Sectional Finals on Tuesday, October 27. Game time is set for 7:00 PM from Louisville Leopards Stadium.
