The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Baseball Team defeated the visiting Boardman Spartans 5-3 Monday evening at Andy Aljancic Field. With the victory, Louisville has won three of the last four and finishes the regular season with a record of 14-9.

Louisville Varsity Leopards were victorious against Boardman Varsity Spartans 5-3 on Monday at Louisville High School.
Boardman Varsity Spartans were the first to get on the board in the first when Max Roberts induced Ryan Neifer to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Louisville Varsity Leopards captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first after Caden Kortis doubled down the left field line, Grayson Brunoni singled down the right field line, and Brock Leghart singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Boardman Varsity Spartans tied the game in the top of the second thanks to an error, and a single by Vince Butto.
Louisville Varsity Leopards captured the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the second after Zander Triplett doubled to right field, and Kortis grounded out, each scoring one run.
Roberts started on the mound for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starter gave up two hits and three runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Donovan Whippo started the game for Boardman Varsity Spartans. The southpaw allowed nine hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Aiden Norris, Connor Cassidy, and Jimi Crilow each came on in relief for Louisville Varsity Leopards and shutdown Boardman Varsity Spartans.
Louisville Varsity Leopards collected 10 hits in the game. Leghart, Triplett, and Brunoni each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Kortis went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Triplett and Xavier Berdella each stole multiple bases for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game.
Sammy Moritz, Tyler Helmick, Butto, Thomas Ramovs, Tyler Kirlik, Whippo, and LJ Norvell each collected one hit for Boardman Varsity Spartans. Butto and Norvell each drove in one run for Boardman Varsity Spartans. Boardman Varsity Spartans turned two double plays in the game.
