Babcock Buries 8 Goals to Lead Louisville

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdIzzy Babcock turned in a dominant performance for Louisville, scoring 8 of the Leopards’ 12 goals in the victory. Babcock struck early and often, netting the first two goals of the match before adding a third off a feed from Grace Diller to complete a first-quarter hat trick and give Louisville a 4-0 lead.

Babcock kept the pressure on in the second quarter with a free-position goal, added Louisville’s lone goal of the third quarter, and then took over again in the fourth. Babcock scored twice in the opening 92 seconds of the final period to push the lead to 10-2, including a hustle play where she knocked the ball loose with a stick check, scooped up the ground ball, and took it in herself for the score. She capped her huge night with Louisville’s final goal off an assist from Abby Demos with 13 seconds remaining.

Genet Scores Twice in Final 25 Seconds of Opening Half

Louisville also got balanced contributions around Babcock’s huge night. Gianna Pentito scored an unassisted goal in the first quarter to make it 3-0, while Claire Genet delivered a key late-second-quarter burst with back-to-back goals in the final 25 seconds of the half.

Genet’s first score came off an assist from Kloey Rukavina with 25 seconds left before halftime. She then scored again unassisted with just six seconds remaining in the half to send Louisville into the break with a commanding 7-1 advantage.

Natalie Warner added the Leopards’ 11th goal of the game late in the fourth quarter off Diller’s second assist of the game.

Lady Leopards Dominate Early and Late

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville established control right from the opening draw by scoring four times in the first quarter and carrying a 4-0 lead into the second. West Geauga briefly answered when Ailsa Mancino scored off an assist from Lena Wright early in the second quarter, but Babcock answered with a free-position goal less than a minute later to keep the Wolverines at arm’s length.

The Wolverines got another goal on a free-position attempt from Elia Congdon early in the third quarter to trim the deficit to 7-2. But that would be as close as West Geauga would get. Babcock answered midway through the third, and Louisville dominated the fourth quarter 4-0 to close out the 10-goal road win.
