The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team defeated the visiting Youngstown Ursuline Fighting Irish 5-1 Wednesday evening at West Main Vet Clinic Field. With the victory, Louisville evens its record at 4-4 on the season.

Louisville Varsity Leopards outsted Ursuline Irish 5-1 on Wednesday.
Louisville Varsity Leopards got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored one run.
Louisville Varsity Leopards added two runs in the second after Maggie Baker singled to center field.
A double by Shae O’Neill extended the Louisville Varsity Leopards lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
Alice Stroney hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the seventh for the Ursuline Irish.

aylor Schneider earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. Emma Davies started the game for Ursuline Irish. The starter allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Katelynn Miller collected the save.
Kaitlin Twinem, Baker, O’Neill, Addy Campbell, Anna Sirohman, and Leah Claugus each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Baker, O’Neill, and Claugus each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
Stroney led Ursuline Irish with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Lauren O’Leary led Ursuline Irish with two hits in three at bats.
Louisville Varsity Leopards will travel to Hoover Varsity Vikings for their next game on Thursday.
