Louisville Falls in Straight Sets at Canton Central Catholic – Volleyball

Central Catholic 27-25-25, Louisville 25-17-23

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball team came up short on the road Tuesday night, dropping a competitive three-set match to the host Canton Central Catholic Crusaders 27-25, 25-17, 25-23. With the loss, Louisville evens its record at 4-4 on the season.

Close Battles Throughout

The opening set was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Leopards push Central Catholic to the wire before falling 27-25. The Crusaders carried that momentum into the second with a 25-17 victory, helped in part by an energized Central Catholic student section that made its presence felt throughout the night. Louisville responded in the third, trading points until the final moments before dropping a narrow 25-23 decision.

Leopard Leaders

Dakota Gross powered the Louisville attack with 13 kills on the night. Addie Johnston set up the offense with 12 assists and chipped in 2 aces from the service line, while Aubrey Johnston anchored the back row defense with a team-high 12 digs.

Across the Leopard Volleyball Program

JV: Central Catholic 25-23-25, Louisville 23-25-21

The JV Leopards also battled in a tight match but ultimately fell in three sets at Central Catholic 23-25, 25-23, 21-25 to move to 2-4.

Freshman: Louisville 25-25, Central Catholic 16-21

The freshman squad stayed unbeaten, improving to 5-0 with a straight-set win over the Crusaders 25-16, 25-21.

Middle School

At the middle school level, both the 7th and 8th grade Leopards earned victories Wednesday night against CVCA — a strong showing for the program’s future.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the New Philadelphia Quakers on Thursday, September 11. Freshman begin at 4:30 PM followed by JV around 5:30 PM and Varsity concluding the night with an approximate start of 6:30 PM.
