The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the visiting North Canton Hoover Vikings 66-56 Tuesday night at Louisville High School. The loss snaps the Leopards’ 8-game winning streak as they now sit at 13-5 on the season.

Gross Scores Team-High 21 for Leopards

Brayden Gross scored 11 of his team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead Louisville. Gross also pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds and converted 9 of 11 free throw attempts.

Beau Siegfried made 3 three-pointers, dished out a game-best 4 assists, and finished in double figures with 12. Other top contributors for the Leopards included Ashton Marshall with 9 points and 5 rebounds and Tate Aljancic with 5 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Louisville were Kolton Loy with 4, Avery Andrejcik with 3, and Devin Bailey with 2. Bailey led the Leopards’ defensive effort with three steals.


Cain Drops in Game-High 23 for Vikings

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdCrew Cain scored a game-high 23 points and dished out a team-high 3 assists to lead the Vikings. Hunter Hershberger poured in 19 points and Rob Oster also reached double figures with 11. Hershberger also led Hoover in rebounds with 6 as the Vikings finished with a 23-20 edge on the glass.

Other scorers for North Canton included Connor Newell with 8, John Collins with 3, and Gage Wagoner with 2. 

The Vikings have now won 4 of their last 5 and improved to 13-6 on the season.


Louisville Vs. North Canton Basketball Series

Romeo's Pizza Louisville, Ohio AdHoover has now taken four of the last five matchups in the series. The lone exception was the Leopards’ 69-47 win at North Canton last season.

The Vikings lead the all-time series 70-62 in records dating back to 1926.
