Lady Leopards Win 20th Straight Match Against Marlington – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team defeated the visiting Marlington Dukes 3-2 Wednesday Evening at Louisville High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 3-4 on the season.
Rachel Kibler continued to dominate in #1 singles in leading the Lady Leopards with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mary Mason. Stella McConnell and Elizabeth Mason won the other singles matches in straight sets for the Lady Dukes.
That left the deciding points up to the two doubles matches and Louisville came away with straight set victories in both. The #1 doubles team of Sherilynn Mullett & Jade Thomas defeated Marlington’s #1 doubles squad of Ella Dipold & Allison Landon 6-1, 6-4. The #2 Leopards doubles team of Bailey Menegay & Katie Yarnall also defeated the Dukes #2 doubles tandem of Savannah Waffler & Olivia Robertson 6-2, 6-4.
The victory snaps Louisville’s 4-match losing streak, while the loss was the first of the year for Marlington who slips to 4-1.
With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now won 20 straight matches against the Lady Dukes dating back to 2009. This includes winning the last 11 matches in the series played at LHS. Louisville now leads the all-time series 52-20.
