Baseball Wins in Extras Again to Sweep South

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team edged the host Canton South Wildcats 8-7 in 8 Innings Thursday Evening at CSHS. This is the second time this week that the Leopards have defeated the Wildcats in extra innings. With their eighth straight win, Louisville is now 9-5 overall and 6-1 in the NBC midway through their conference schedule.

Jake Adams led the Leopards by batting 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBIs. His sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth scored Brock Haren for what proved to be the game-winning run of the contest.

Alex Hewitt also went 3-for-3 for Louisville and delivered a game-tying single in the top of the sixth to Beatty's Sports Louisville Leopards Baseball Shirt 2015knot the game at 7-7. Dalton Deckerd also drove in a pair of runs and Stephen Kerzan drew 4 walks & scored 3 runs for the Leopards.

On the mound, Adam Nyland held Canton South scoreless in the final three innings and struck out 3 to earn the win. Nyland improves his win-loss record to 4-2 on the year with all of his appearances coming in relief.

The Wildcats were led by Khord Moore and Austin Ness who drove in 2 runs each. John Haslam also recorded a pair of hits.

UP NEXT: The Leopards Varsity team will next play the Canton McKinley Bulldogs on Friday, April 24 at 6:00 PM at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.

On the hill, Cameron Prasco pitched a complete game shutout, gave up just 3 hits, and struck out 4 to earn the victory. Prasco is now 3-0 on the year.
